First of all, it was a pleasure working with Inca Trail Reservations (ITR) on customizing my visit to Perú. While other agencies wanted to sell me a package, ITR worked with me on meeting my needs.
Walking the Inca Trail in my mid-sixties was not an easy thing but it was worth every step of the way not only for the history and culture gleaned from Jorge, the guide, but also the incredible natural beauty. But, all of that would not have been possible without the excellent work of the crew, headed by Modesto, who produced nutritious and tasty food out of a burner powered by a tank of gas hauled up and down those hills by the sheer power of the incredible porters who also carried tents, utensils, table and chairs for us "guests." Kudos to those guys!
The chemistry among Dutch, Norwegian, Colombian, and Argentinian guests with the Peruvian guides and crew was quite remarkable. But we were all in awe of the beauty of the trail. That is my story.
