Before I even booked and was doing my research, Ruth was very helpful in answering my questions, as well as Fanny after I booked. When we flew into Cuzco, a driver was waiting to pick us up and drive us to the hotel, which was included in our package, and he was very nice.
Our first day we went on a Cuzco City tour that we booked, which was so great! On our second day we booked the Sacred Valley Tour which was fabulous as well, with Kiser as the guide. The guides for both trips were so informative and it really started our Inca trip on a great note, as we were getting excited to start out Inca Trail Trek.
The trek itself was out of this world!!!!!!!! SO AMAZING I will forever remember everything about it. Victor, our guide, was truly the best. He was very informative about everything, from the archaeological sites, to the camping, to knowledge about the porters and Machu Picchu. Our group was very fast, but I´d like to think we were average speed. Victor was very motivating, and it was so helpful when he kept reminding me to take my time and stop as many times as I needed, which I really appreciated.
He explained so many things, was patient when I took a crazy amount of pictures, and he showed us the special Machu Picchu orchid that I would never have seen without him. I really will never forget Victor's kindness and leadership.
The porters I think are the hardest workers I have ever seen and it is amazing what they can carry while passing everyone on the trail. They are the heart and sole of the Inca Trail, for everyone. Their strength was extraordinary and made our campsites feel like home, while they did not get the luxuries we did. The cook made delicious food, I could not believe we were in the middle of the Andes Mountains!
When we finally made it to Machu Picchu, it was spectacular and everything I imagined, and far more. It was sad to leave my group, as I think we got along very well, and made this amazing journey together, with Victor! We stayed in Aguas Calientes that night and booked the Mandor Tour as well with Inca Trail Reservations. Al, our guide was ALSO so amazing. These guides that this company uses are totally worth it, and I hope they keep employing these tours in the future. I would recommend this company to anyone and would most likely use them again. Thank you!!!!!! I made it!
