I just finished the Inka trail, and in a word it was BREATHTAKING!!!!! I was challenged with every step but the pay off is well worth it. I have never camped out doors but waking up the sounds of the waterfall and stream next to your camp was relaxing. Bring a camera and have lots of battery time and memory space, but be prepared because your pictures will never capture the true beauty of the trek. seeing the ruins and walking the same steps of the Inka people made me reflect on my life. You will also find yourself soul searching and appreciating just life in general. I encourage you to take the trek, it is worth every step and it will change your life. Prior to the trek please train, the second day is a killer, but once you reach the mountain top and look down on the valley floor where you just came from the sense of accomplishment will fill your body with joy and you fill as if nothing can stop you.

The last day is an early one, but the 2 hour hike through the jungle is Awesome with cliffs that drop hundreds of feet in the lush green floor, offering beautiful pictures leading to the Sun Gate. The short climb to the to and peering over the edge as you reach the top seeing Machu Picchu for the first time makes all the hard work getting there more then worth it.
