I greatly enjoyed my trek to Machu Picchu. I appreciated how knowledgeable my guides were and how informative Carlos was throughout the trek. I would certainly recommend this trek to others as well as tell them that I had a very enjoyable time with the Inca Trail Reservations tour group. The entire trip was full of amazing scenery and the original Inca sites were a fantastic addition to the trip.
I thought that the trip was, for the most part, well organized and well run. The first day was made somewhat frustrating when our group did not have enough porters for the large number of people in the tour group. I did not understand this as we all had to book this trip many months in advance-- so I wish the trip had been more organized from the get go, as it was very frustrating to sit and wait for multiple hours while our tour guides went to go find porters to carry our groups´ belongings. Other than this glitch at the start of the trip, I felt that the trek was well-run.
The best part of the trip was certainly the hiking through the sites and learning about the origin of the trails we were walking on. The guides really helped bring out the history of the trail and I enjoyed listening to them-- most specifically Carlos-- share his knowledge with the group. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and I am very pleased.
The Machu Picchu Inca Trail trek was an amazing once in a lifetime experience. I would recommend for anyone who loves the outdoors, experiencing a new country, and culture, to enjoy a trek such as ours. The mountain views, the trail, and the archeological sites were beautiful. I feel like I learned a lot about Inca history and culture, as the guide was very knowledgeable and open to answer questions throughout the tour. It was very convenient to have food provided for us, as well as tents set up for us to sleep at night. The wake up tea brought to our tents was an added bonus. Overall, the trek could have been a little bit more organized, for the price that we paid. For example, having enough porters lined up for the trip, so that we wouldn´t have had to sit and wait to start the hike. The other suggestion I have for this company: please specify in orientation or online the ¨weight limit¨for luggage, as this seemed to be a problem for our porters. We were asked to give away belongings and make bags lighter. This would not be a problem, if told upfront about the weight limit. Overall, however, I would recommend this group for a trek. Please just be sure to ask all questions upfront before beginning.
thank you very much Inca Trail Reservations !!!
