We did the 4 day Salkantay trek and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The trek was a challenge for me at times but the smiles and encouragement of the staff really helped me through the hard parts. It was worth the experience.

The guide for our trek was knowledgeable and full of interesting information he was willing to share with us. I was very impressed with the level of professionalism of the office staff and the guide. The cooks and horsemen were skilled and always friendly, accommodating and welcoming; they were a pleasure to be around. The organization of the trip seemed to be well done as everything ran smoothly. The food was interesting and different at every meal.

The trek itself had some good scenery; however when we went it rained a lot, so if you do this trek then make sure you are prepared for wet weather with waterproof shoes and changes of clothes etc. It can be cold at night, thermals really came in handy. It rained so much that even my waterproof shoes ended up letting some water in and I had to wear wet shoes on the last day, so I recommend bringing a spare pair of shoes if the forecast is for rain. Bring lots of high calorie snacks as the walk can be hard at times and you can get very hungry.

The last day of the trek was my favorite as we walked through the jungle along a beautiful river, the scenery was spectacular. We also had the opportunity to relax at the hot springs at Santa Theresa after lunch; this was a welcome relief and definitely helped our tired muscles. This trek is a good one to do because of the variety of landscapes you see on the trek.

I would recommend this trail and this company as long as people are aware that the trek is not a walk in the park and can be quite hard. Make sure you have the right equipment and check the equipment of the company (if you hire any) to ensure your trip is as good as it can be.

We had our Salkantay trek, it was really beautiful. The staff was very helpful and courteous with us. Our guide was very professional, helpful and knowledgeable, he explained us all about the trek and also Machupicchu.

Our cooks, horsemen were friendly and always in high spirits. The food was very good and delicious. Everything was good and well organized. I suggest a topographic map to know what to expect in the way, it was raining a lot. Machupicchu was really amazing.
