From the start, communication via email was great. Mabel answered our questions with both urgency and accuracy. The pre-trek information session was very thorough and informative, and the supplies (sleeping bag, sleeping mat, tents) were quality.
The first night was supremely cold, colder than expected. Wake up calls were early, and our guide Americo and the cooks greeted us with hot tea at our tents in the morning, a really nice touch. The food was mostly local food, prepared and presented well. On our last day, the cooks treated us with cake for breakfast.
The hot springs are not to be missed, and by the last night we were at a lower elevation, sleeping warm in our tents. Be prepared to tip your guide, porter, and two cooks. They do a fantastic job day after day.
