Salkantay trek

This was the most spectacular adventure of my life. From the moment we left Cusco I knew I was in for quite a ride. With the help of my fantastic friend Americo, who also happened to be my guide, I was brought to the most beautiful parts of the world. The trip to Soraypampa was a great way to get to know the land and my fellow travelers. It was also a great way to warm up for the following day, a climb to Salkantay . The view from the 4.6 km peak of our trek has no words to describe it. It left me feeling so, so small. I was grateful to learn about the old Andean customs like our gift to the Apu Salkantay. Americo knew answers to every question about this beautiful land of his, and I gained a much deeper understanding and appreciation of the culture and landscape. I will never forget this, and I am eternally grateful for the guidance and companionship of Americo and my group.
