First of all, I would like to thank the company I work for, Inca Trail Reservations . They gave me the opportunity to go to this sacred path called the “Salkantay trek”, this trek was one of the best trips I have ever done in my life and I would like to hike it again. I have to say that it was very challenging for me as I am not used to do exercise, but all the sceneries you see along the way makes you forget everything, you see snow capped mountains, rivers, waterfalls, lakes (Umantay lake has a turquoise water and it is really beautiful), Inca trails, Llactapata ruins, the rain forest and Machu Picchu, which is a must see, surrounded by mountains. It is amazing to see how the path changes from the massive snow capped mountains into the lush tropical rain forests.

This tour gave me the chance to verify how our staff works and I have to say that everyone did a great job, each and every one put all their effort to make our trip the best. Our tour guides, Fisher and Manuel were always taking care of all of us and asking how do we feel along the path. They gave us time to appreciate the nature and walk according to our physical condition. The chefs prepared delicious meals for us, I ate different dishes every day with local products.

Doing the Salkantay trek made me see different inca trails, ancient paths that Incas built in the past which are along Peru and other countries like Ecuador, Argentina, Chile and Bolivia, so if you don´t get a permit for the classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu I could say that Salkantay trek is a great option to learn more about the Incas and our richest culture.

I will never forget this marvelous adventure and thanks to Inca Trail Reservations, and also all the people I work with, for making one of the most exiting trips to me and our clients. Our company offers not only a tour but a dream because we can make dreams come true.
