Trekking to MP (Machu Picchu) along the Inca Trail was a tough journey which presented many challenges: sleep, physical, emotional & a need to examine ones sense of self.
My guide was a chico more than a guide - well versed, patient & warm at the same time very professional & astute with his trekkers.
The trek itself was fascinating & for those considering whether to walk the 60km / 45mi or skip the effort & catch the train to MP, time permitting I would recommend the trek without a doubt.
I traveled with my best mate, my brother & annoyed him to no ends with out of sorts cantankerous behaviors mostly from no sleep. Multiple times I wanted to quit however the end result was epic.
For those wanting a challenge & an opportunity to grow, to push themselves and arrive at MP with a much greater appreciation of the Incas & the end of journey result, this would be the ideal adventure.
