Chat on WhatsAppNot ;) Hiking this incredible mountain has been a dream of mine ever since my daughter hiked it eight years ago. This year my husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary and Darryl (my husband) surprised me with a trip to Peru where we could experience the majesty of the Andes together. I must admit I could never have been fully prepared for the hike for two reasons; it was for sure the most challenging thing I have ever done...ever ! But also it was the most incredibly beautiful place I have ever had the privilege of visiting.
The group that I traveled with were all so awesome... as were the porters who (in my opinion) demonstrated super human abilities as they raced ahead to camp before us each day with 90 pounds on their backs, to set up our tents and to prepare delicious meals each day. Mostly I want to acknowledge the incredible tour guides. Paul's love and passion for his country is so evident. He was so insightful and funny :) All in all.... an experience I will never forget !
