I survived the Inca Trail !!! 49 kilometers and 13,776 feet above sea level! I did it! This was the hardest and most amazing thing I have ever done in my entire life! It was so much fun! Inca Trail Reservations were very helpful in organizing our entire trip including the trek, hostal before and after the trek, and ride from the airport and to the trek. We met some awesome people and had some great adventures!!! The food was so much better than I expected considering we were in the mountains!
Be prepared for all weather conditions, we had sun, rain, snow and hail all in one day! Bring only what you need unless you hire an extra porter, those bags get super heavy!! I recommend hiring an extra porter to make the work less on you. Make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen and bug repellent. Bring warm clothes because it gets really cold at night!
Overall, I would really recommend the Inca Trail to anyone I know. It is quite an accomplishment to say that you hiked the Inca Trail !!! We had such a great time and I think that everyone should do it!! There are many companies to go with, so it was hard to make our decision. I think our company worked out really well and we had a great time. All 4 of the people in my close group made the trek and now we are Inca Trail warriors!!!
