The Saga started with an early bus ride to a small town with a forgettable name. After our lunch there, we started the serious business: walking. The first day wasn't too bad, all though we still felt the vail of altitude on our lungs. After we got to the first camp, we went to bathe in a lake cold as hell during winter.
The second day was the climbing day with big C. But even bigger was the reward of reaching the "top" of Salkantay . The trip down was bad news for the knees, but heaven on a good day compared to the climb. The keywords for the next following days were cakewalk, zip-line and the relief of a proper bed in Aguas Calientes.
All in all the trip was rewarding and an experience of the real Peru.
