The first day was a lovely stroll. The extra hike up to the lake was a good preview of what day two was going to be all about.
Day two was a rockin' 11 hour hike up to over 15,000 feet. The views were AMAZING!!! The only issue was the long day. Hiking for that long with only a lunch break after 8 hours was a bit tough. When we got done however it was a spectacular day. The 3rd day was mello and not too hard and finally on the 4th day we got into the really Inca Trail . We loved the trail and the "cloud forest". Man-o-man it was stunning.
The cooks and porters were nice and respectful and the guides were knowledgeable and took great care of us. For my mega hiking friends I'll recommend this tour but honestly you need to be a bit more up front about the difficulty of the second day. I hike daily in the Chugach Mountains of Alaska and this was very difficult.
