Chat on WhatsAppFrom beginning to end, I enjoyed every challenging step of the Inca Trail. Completing this adventure was a personal goal of mine and it was more amazing than I ever could have imagined. The sights of the mountains and down the valleys to the river below were beyond breathtaking.
It was a thrill to travel through so many climate changes and see firsthand so much of the landscape. Our tour guide, Raul, made the trip extremely fascinating with his historical knowledge of the ruins and interesting facts about flora and fauna.
We were incredibly lucky to have such a fantastic guide who went above and beyond. The porters were incredibly impressive and encouraging and the cook made the most amazing food that we had here in Peru. Without them, the journey would not have been possible. I even learned some Quechua! I most enjoyed learning about the Inca religion and culture while being able to explore the amazing ruins throughout the journey.
When we finally arrived at the Sun Gate after three full days of hiking, I had such an indescribable feeling of fulfillment and finally reaching Machu Picchu is a memory I will gladly cherish for the rest of my life.
