This trek was a lot of fun. We had a small group of six, which was very pleasant. Every porter went out of their way to make us feel at home, which was very welcome. We actually would have liked the opportunity to pitch and help out, to make the trip even more challenging.
Hiking was wonderful. A grand adventure. I would recommend it to anyone.
Macchu Picchu was amazing, but overly crowded compared to the trek. It felt like Disneyworld or some other theme park. There is little to be done about this, however, except to continue restoration. Perhaps those who have hiked the trek could get some sort of priority over the other tourists.
Overall, bravo. The Peruvian government has done a fantastic job in restoring and preserving this amazing human history. I congratulate them, and hope they will continue to maintain this site for many years, open to the public and not privatized.
