My trip on the Inca Trail with Inca Trail Reservations was really great. The guides, Paul and Marco, were funny but also very knowledgeable and professional.
I really enjoyed the insights into Inca Culture they shared, along with a lot of fun anecdotes , Although it was sometimes hard to tell if they were just messing with us. The food was also very good... Every meal was different, and we even enjoyed cake and banana quiche in the middle of the trail. The trail itself was amazing... I had heard a lot about the ruins and history along the way, but the natural surroundings were what really stunned me. Machu Picchu was the most amazing ruin, but I also loved seeing the others along the trail in relative peace.
Don't be scared away by warnings about how hard it is! If you're a hiker you'll be just fine Although acclimating first makes it easier for sure.
Go for it, bring good rain gear, and enjoy!.
