Trekking the Inca Trail was one of the best experiences of my life. The trail was long and some parts were very steep.
The second day leads you up to dead womans pass. In the higher elevations it was harder to breath! We could only do 15-20 steps at a time before stopping to catch our breath. But the scenery was breathtaking and well worth the effort. Along the way, the guides were informative and entertaining. We learned a lot about Incan history and culture. The entire staff was amazing and supportive the entire time.
The campsites were always set up upon finishing the day's hike and the food was always delicious and filling. Finishing at Machu Picchu was rewarding and breathtaking. I would do it again!
