Since my teens I have wanted to visit Peru to walk the Inca Trail and visit Machu Picchu. This year we finally went! It started with very nice email communication by the ladies of the reservations desk. They were very helpful and always responded within 2 days. A small suggestion would be to give more advise on for example wayna Picchu (it's pretty though climb to do the same day when arriving in Macchu Picchu) and staying in Aguas calientes instead of going back to Cuzco directly. After arriving in Peru we had a meeting the evening before the trail. This was very helpful and gave a bit of a view of what was coming the next days. The day of departure the guides and the porters were very helpful and professional. This didn't change throughout the trail. The food was amazing, the knowledge of the guides impressive and the equipment perfect. We had quite a big group but that didn't interfere with the personal attention provided by the guides. The second day was pretty intense and it was good that we could arrange a local porter last minute. I definitely advise people to make use of the porters. The third day is long and a lot of downhill which is quite tiring. However all is worth it when you arrive at the sungate and get to see Macchu Picchu for the first time. It made us cry! The rest was just a dream come true. The only adviser would give is that it is pretty hard at times and a certain level of fitness is definitely advantageous.
Dream come true
