Chat on WhatsAppFrom the moment I departed the bus, and Paul our guide said "honky wonky lets go" I new it was going to be a little cheeky! The weather was hot, the views were stunning and so it began. The first day trek to base camp at soropampya was fairly easy, the highlight for that day was a swim in the glacier lake at 3400m. A tad chilly, but worth it, the only downside was the altitude sickness. The next day we were greeted with a lovely cup of tea at the tent at 0500 hrs, perfect! The trek however was not as easy as I first thought. Breathtaking views literally. Over the top of the Salkantay pass and down into the Amazon, followed by a late night chewing the fat around a fire. I could go on all night commenting on what has been an amazing trek, but all I want to say is thank you for what has been a highlight in my life.
Paul and Marco and the team could not do enough for us, insightful and very funny, true professionals, I do not have a single bad thing to say, great facilities and fantastic food throughout.
I now have magical memories that will stay with me for ever. This is all down to Paul and Marco.
