My friend and I did the 4 day / 3 night Inca Trail and had the adventure of a lifetime. Our guide, Manuel, was very enthusiastic and shared his knowledge about the ruins we passed along the way. We were provided with amazing food (credit to our cook Raul)... in fact some of the best we have had in South America.
The team of porters were also amazing, carrying our excess equipment and setting up our tents before our arrival at each campsite. Furthermore, they provided room (tent) service each morning with much needed coca tea.
Over the course of the trek our group became a family thanks to Manuel's leadership. When we arrived at Machu Picchu we were blown away with the size of the ruins. Manuel helped us to get the best photos to capture the moment and our achievement. We were given a 2 hour tour of the site which included information and stories which was only knowledge of the locals. It was sad when the tour was over, but we were all looking forward to sleeping in a bed that night.
