The tour was well organized throughout we were picked up on time and the guide had everything ready. The guide was informative throughout and I always felt well looked after. The gave us all the information we needed for the trip.

The first day was very easy and and a good way to ease us in gently to the hiking experience. We finished walking early and our tents were set up for the night. I liked the fact the camp site had showers.

Unfortunately my friend was very ill and needed to be looked after and the guide and porters did very well and explained the options for continuing or returning to Cuzco or Aguascalientes.

The second day was much tougher and involved a lot of walking up hill but I enjoyed the challenge.

The third day was easier and we finished 1 day earlier. The reward of seeing Machu Picchu at the end made all the walking worthwhile. The guide had lots of interesting information about the site.

The porters work very hard and cooked amazing food. They also carry back breaking loads which cannot be good for their health. I know they get paid very little. This is wrong considering the amount we paid for this trip. I don't know where this money goes but i know it doesn't go the staff who made our tour experience very enjoyable.

From talking to other travelers we could have arranged a tour from Peru for half the amount we paid. I would advise others to do this and give the extra money to the guide and porter as a tip.
