The Salkantay trek was one of the most wonderful experiences I've ever had, and I will surely recommend this walk to my friends and family. As a Peruvian-Australian I hadn't had a chance to get to know my native homeland, Peru, and this was a great way to exercise, get to know the culture and meet some new people.

The first night was very cold. The trek itself was unexpected, and personally for me physically challenging. But reaching Humantay lake was incredibly rewarding, and i'm glad we made it! We had the most perfect weather throughout the entire trip as well.

The second day - 26 km was really hard! But we had a nice campsite! It was my absolute favourite. I really loved staying with the locals and also seeing how people lived. Everyone was very friendly!

The third night was also very nice. Although the other groups were very rowdy (noisey) and i would have liked people who are 'party' people to sleep in a seperate campsite to those who are early risers.

The fourh night in aguas calientes was very nice! Carlos checked that we had been given a decent room and took care of the logistics! We were so grateful to have a nuce warm shower!

Lastly, i was very grateful for having Carlos as our guide. He was very generous and always happy! His encouraging words were really appreciated and i was so thankful for the fact that he was genuinely concerned about everyone's health and safety. I also really appreciated his knoweldge about the history of the Incan culture. I also thought the cooks, the 'international chef' Simon and Angel were fantastic! The food and the service we received throughout this trip was truly one of a kind! Thank you Simon and Angel for all your hard work.

This trip was more than i expected! Thank you so much for making this happen
