Our trek with Inca Trail Reservations was excellent. All of the connections before the trek were made in a timely manner and all of the people we dealt with were very courteous. Once we got onto the trail, the real fun began. Our guide, Romero, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about the local area, including Inca history and culture. Having him along made it much better to see the ruins than just walking through them because we could learn what they were all about. The porters were some of the hardest working people I´ve ever seen, and they always had smiles on their faces. They seemed to be well treated, which I believe is also important. Our chef was amazing! Most of the restaurants we ate at in Lima and Cusco couldn´t measure up to what he was doing. He really went above and beyond... after learning that this trek was our honeymoon, he baked a wedding cake for me and my wife in a Dutch oven! You can imagine the luxurious feeling of a fresh baked cake after three days of trekking, not to mention the way that touched our hearts. I would recommend the Inca Trail to anyone looking for an adventure and I recommend Inca Trail Reservations to anyone who wants to take the trek. As a gringo who speaks very little Espanol, they were very easy to work with.
A word to the wise - pack light! My wife and I failed to do so and it made the trek much harder. If you have questions, ask the tour company to send you my e-mail address and I´m.
