Had a fantastic time on the trek even though on day 2 (the hardest day) I had a virus and had to stop every 20 feet to get to to dead woman's pass - it was a great sense of achievement to make it.
Juan our guide was very patient encouraging me all the way up. By day 3 I was feeling healthy again and the walk was the best and most beautiful day for me. There were large parts of the track where there was no one around us which was awesome.
The last day went super fast and we almost ran to see the sunrise and got there 20 minutes before the first light hit Machu Picchu.
If you are thinking of doing it then you won't be disappointed. it's tough in parts and mornings are early but it is massively rewarding which is exactly what a good hike (tramp) should be like.
