Chat on WhatsAppThe Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu adventure was incredible! It was so much more than we expected! The mountain scenery was breathtaking and it was an adventure from start to finish. The tour guides Carlos and Nemias were wonderful. All of the staff deserves a shout out including the cooks, porters, and horsemen. We had delicious hot meals three times a day, were woken up with hot drinks in our tents in the morning, and even had "happy hour" coffee, tea, and cocoa each night. The cooks were so wonderful to bake one of the travelers a birthday cake for breakfast!
I had the misfortune of breaking my foot a month before the trek and Salkantay.org was nothing but accommodating. They organized for me to ride a horse throughout the trek and the horsemen made sure I was traveling safely the whole way. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a great Machu Picchu adventure. I can't wait to return to hike it one day!
