salkantay hike was absolutely one of the most amazing tough

Seeing Machu Picchu has been a dream of mine for many years. Salkantay.Org made this dream a reality and the Salkantay hike was absolutely one of the most amazing, tough, spectacular, five days of my life. Our group was small, the trail was not overrun with other groups, so a lot of the time we were completely alone on the trail. There is so much beauty and unbelievable scenery, and the entire hike was stunning. It was also pretty difficult and challenging at times but David, our guide, was always there to support and encourage us. He also knows the trail like the back of his hand and was eager to teach us about Inca history and the nature of Peru.

The staff we had, the cooks especially, were amazing and the food was more than plentiful and delicious!

Every day we had something we had never had before, like lima bean juice, which sounds terrible but was really tasty.

Also one girl had a birthday and the cooks actually baked a cake!

Machu Picchu did not disappoint and David gave an awesome tour and also knew the best, most quiet spot to sit in the morning . The trip back was comfortable, and all of the transportation was safe and the drivers were very good.

I am so proud of our group for the accomplishment of hiking over 80km and it would not have been possible without David and the help from the company. Thank you for an amazing, once in a lifetime experience!!
