We came at the end of January during rainy season but the hike was great ! The trek consisted of lush green countryside and gorgeous views of the river, valley and mountains. The trek was tough but not too tough. I really enjoyed the 2 day hike. On the two day you were able to take in the environment and culture, experience Machu Picchu, and receive a ton of information without having to camp overnight. Everything was included – transportation, hotel, meals, and tour guide – and staff were always available to give information at each transition point. Tour guide, Carlos, was awesome !
