I came into this hike with minimal hiking experience. I have done some day hikes and live In the Rockie mountains.
This was my first over night hiking trip i have completed. The first day was 12.5km and we saw our first inca ruins and passed a lot of local Villages and farmers. The second day was almost entirely up hill and was a steep climb. It was a hard day but we started getting into heavy and beautiful forrest. Also the views that came along with the high elevation from the steep climb where amazing. The third day was my favorite as It was a good Hike along with amazing views and alot of inca ruins. This was also our first view of Machu Picchu mountain.
The last day we arrived to the sun gate and got our first view of Machu Picchu city and was my favorite part of the trip. The Guides where great and the food was amazing. I felt very comfortable the entire Hike and will never forget the experience.
