Chat on WhatsAppThe Salkantay Trek was the experience of a lifetime!!! We had the most amazing group of 11 people from all over the world. Our guide, Lizandro, was fantástico from the get go and spoke great English.
Our first day of trekking was the "easy day" and we made it to our camp in around 5 hours and then after lunch hiked 2 hours up to the Mother Lake which was breath taking. The snowpeaked mountains and green & blue water had me in awe.
The second day was the the hard day and we walked for 9 hours including going up to 4630 m, the highest altitude of the trekk.
One the third day we relaxed and enjoyed 5 hours of trekking prior to soaking in the hot springs for the rest of the afternoon. On day 4 we opted to go all out and go for the full 8 hour day of hiking rather than taking the easy way out with a bus and we were so happy that we did as we enjoyed some more jaw dropping views.
The food throughout the trek was delicious we were so impressed. I have nothing bad to say about this trekk it was so great, more expensive than others I have heard of but you get what you pay for ¡¡¡.
