Our guides and porters were excellent. I cannot imagine how much harder this would have been without their help and encouragment. Our guide, Juan, not only led us safely on this strenuous trek, but he also shared a lot of Inca lore and traditions with us. We felt very humbled as we retraced the steps the Incas used to take to Machu Pichu. The camp sites were very well organized and our cook, Simon, dazzled us each mealtime with his skills.
