What an unforgettable experience !!! No one said the Inca Trail was easy, but parts of the last four days were harder than I could have imagined. Despite this and thanks to our guide Raúl and his team of fantastic porter, I have had an amazing time that I will take with me for the rest of my life.
Raul provided more insight in to the history of the Inca civilisation that any other guide we have encountered in Peru , offering alternative theories and viewpoints about the pupose and origin of different ruins .Plus ,he was always there to cheer us up and crack a joke when we needed it most !! Needless to say, after along day of hiking, confort food is exactly what we all needed.
We were not only astonished by the delicious dishes our cook put together up a mountain, but also by the great concept that is "Happy Hour" - Popcorn,Coca tea and chicha morada to fill the spot as soon as we got to our base camp each night.
Thanks to the small group and the friendly, supportive and flexible staff ,I have no regrest in choosing Inca Trail Reservations for this inspirational trip , and (madly), I could go back and do it all over again next week !!!.
