Almost Dead Woman’s Trek

I came to this trek with some fear and trepidation, knowing it was going to be a very difficult challenge and knowing that I had not trained for it !!.

I knew too that there would be amazingly beautiful views along the way and lots of interesting information to gain about the country of Peru, the people and their history - the history of the Inca's in particular. That drew me. It was indeed very difficult but our guides were wonderful, doing everything they could to ensure that each person finished the trek.

They were very knowledgeable and continually told us about the history, mythology, traditions, and mystery of the Inca's.

They made the trek much more interesting by pointing out the architectural sites, the flora, colorful birds and history of each area always with their great sense of humor. And the food! We were all amazed that the four cooks started our day with a hearty breakfast (after waking us with a cup of tea in our tents) then trekked ahead of us to prepare delicious lunches and suppers of several courses !!.

So thank you Inca Trail Reservations for making a very difficult experience also an experience filled with good memories.
