Alpackin into the Salkantay wilderness

I decided to experience Machu Picchu after a 10 week internship in Ecuador. I figured since I was in the general area I should take advantage.

I booked the trek through Inca Trail s reservations almost impulsively, but was thoroughly impressed. The first day I met an amazing group of people from different corners of the world and trekked into the mountains to view the majestic Humanti and Salkantay mountains in the cold alpines.The food was excellent, we had a wonderful campsite set up for us on arrival, and the guides were very involved and caring about our experience.

These important details that sometimes get overlooked made the trip for me. We were able to enjoy the trek at its fullest.
