The toughest but most rewarding four days of my life. The views are breathtaking, the challenge is huge but the overall reward is immeasurable, reaching the Sun Gate on the morning of the fourth day to catch a first glimpse of Machu Picchu was one of my proudest moments. You are warned that the second day is the hardest and it is, but the panoramic view from 4200m makes it so worth the, what seems like, thousands of steps! The guides know everything there is to know but also become your friend as you journey from Inca site to Inca site, from peak to peak, and across the 'Inca Flat' parts of the journey. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
