Chat on WhatsAppI thoroughly enjoyed my Salkantay trekking experience. I have never participated in a trek like this one before. I was very impressed with how the Salkantay.Org staff volunteered to pick us up at the airport upon our arrival to Cusco.
It was very helpful to me to get a ride directly to my hotel and recommendations of other activities to do during my Peru vacation. I appreciated how we were picked up from our hotel at the start of the trek.
The food was very good. I liked all of the meals and thought that there was even too much food at some times. I would recommend more cookies. The way tea time is set up creates for a good environment to get tot know the other trekkers. I liked how many countries were represented and how the guides were willing to help me learn Spanish. There was some wrong information given to us regarding access to Mach Picchu, but other than that misinformation we were very well informed the entire time and I felt like my opinion was valued by the guides.
There was a good level of difficulty of the hiking for me. Overall I was very pleased with my experience and would recommend it to a friend.
