Chat on WhatsAppWe had a wonderful time on our trek. We were fortunate to have beautiful warm sunny weather the entire time. Our fellow trekkers were positive, friendly people and we had a blast playing a card game we learned from our guide, called Donkey, in the evenings. The views were fantastic and the scenery was varied. The hot springs in Santa Teresa were also some of the most beautiful and well-maintained springs that we´ve ever been to visit. Our chef cooked delicious soups every day.
The first day was good for acclimatizing us to the altitude and helping familiarize ourselves with each other as a group. The second day, which brought us over Salkantay Pass, was challenging and difficult but also incredibly fulfilling. The view on Salkantay pass is one of the coolest things we have ever seen. The third day was a great hike through a winding forest along a river. There was fruit all along the path and the hike was the perfect length after a tough walk the prior day.
We´d highly recommend the trek to someone that loves gorgeous mountain views and something that is a little challenging but definitely worth it, especially if you only have a few days to trek.
