We were not disappointed ! The pre-trip service was excellent as we were regularly updated regarding our train and trail bookings and the staff were always available via email or live chat. Before the trail we had a meeting that allowed us to address any queries and this greatly reduced any anxieties.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the service on the trail. Our guide, Raulito, was entertaining, informative and extremely professional. In addition, the support team were friendly and the food was excellent. They made a real effort to ensure that the group socialized and we really felt like a little family by the end of the trip.
The trip was good value for money but I would recommend bringing an extra 200 soles for snacks, a solid pre-trail breakfast and a celebratory lunch after the trail. You will also want to tip the staff; quite often in Peru I feel I have been pressured into tipping people for just doing their job, but the Inca Trail staff certainly went above and beyond and deserved an additional show of gratitude at the end.
A comparatively expensive excursion but one you simply must do - you will not regret booking this tour !
