It was a great 4D3N trekking through the Machu Picchu mountain, though I'd say this is not for the weak hearted.
Overall, you would be put under good care, with dedicated porters carrying tents, water and food supplies, and always reaching hours ahead of you to set up everything by the time you reach. You'll also have a cook(yes, chef!) cooking an awesome three meals a day, as well as hot water every morning.
However, the 4D3N trip over high altitude (4200m) requires you to be physically fit, and most of the people I saw along the route come well prepared. So do your homework and prepare well! :)
