This trip to south America was mainly centered around the Machu Picchu trek. I was a little apprehensive about the amount of time we would be spending walking each day and was sure that both myself and my partner had the correct footwear as to avoid blisters!
When we started the first day was pretty easy and we finished off at a quiet camp with a very tasty evening dinner, there was some time set aside to do some star gazing before having an early night. The amount of stars visible here at night was incredible.
Day two was always going to be the hardest day and it definitely lived up to its reputation with some of us struggling to reach the summit. Once we all reached Dead Woman's pass we descended down to our camp site where we had the chance to mingle with other travelers if we wanted to.
The third day had the most amazing views of the valleys with some unforgettable scenery! Although it was the longest day it was still enjoyable with breath taking views of the valleys. It was time for an early night as we had an early start!
The final day involved us reaching the Sun Gate with spectacular views of Machu Picchu and the Inca site!
Our guide "Carlos - king of the mountain" was incredible informative throughout the entire trip and could not have been more passionate about his heritage!
Overall it is a once in a lifetime experience that should not be missed!
