The Inca Trail was such a surreal experience! From the initial excitement of booking through to the finally departing Machu Pichu on the final day we were supported by Inca Trail Reservation staff and guides.
Day one of the trail was full of excitement and nerves as we met our group and guides. We set of and got our passports stamped, crossed the bridge and BEGAN!
After only a short walk we stopped for lunch and met our amazing porters who not only carried all of our cooking and camping equipment, they also cooked us delightful meals and always had a smile on thier faces.
Day two was without a doubt one of the hardest days of hiking i have ever done. Up super early, walking in the rain and up steep hills, but our guide Fredi was amazing, helping me to breath even though the altitude was making me dizzy!
The sense of achievement when we reached the peak of the Dead wonam´s pass was incredible and, even at 4215 metres above sea level I felt like i was on top of the world!!
Day three and four were also amazing. Day three, without a doubt the longest day, was amazing, lots of walking around beautiful ruins and seeing more amazing scenery :)
Machu Pichu was an absolutely breathtaking sight, i was in awe at what the Incas could do!
Overall, a fantastic trip and very well organised!
Thanks Inca Trail Reservations :)
