I and my sister hiked the four day Inca Trail with Inca Trail Reservations this August, and I can say that it was definitely one of the coolest experiences in my life. I expected the trek to be physically grueling and very painful, but while it was physically challenging, it was a lot better than I expected. The landscapes that we trekked through were amazing to say the least; being able to see the mountains and the Urubamba River while hiking was so surreal. Our tour guide, Victor was great! You could tell he had a lot of passion for the history of the Quechuas, and his knowledge in Incan culture and history really made the trek to Machu Picchu a very special experience. In addition to Victor, our porters also made our experience that much better. They always had our tents set up when we reached our campsites and the effort they put into making us as comfortable as we could be was truly touching. The porters were definitely the hardest workers I've ever seen and I'm so grateful for them. I would definitely recommend the four day classic Inca Trail to anyone who can do it (and I'm sure that anybody CAN do it!) because it's a once in a lifetime experience and it makes the visit to Machu Picchu that much better.

I hiked the 4-day Classic Inca Trail with my sister in August and it was amazing! The trail itself is surrounded by beautiful, picturesque landscapes and the many archaeological sites along the way provide a nice break as you take a rest from the hike. Our tour guide, Victor was awesome and his passion for the Quechuan culture really shone through. The hike was not only a great workout but an educational experience that takes us into the heart of Peruvian culture and history. The porters were also great and gave us encouraging smiles and nods along the way. The accommodations and meals far exceeded my expectations – providing us experiences with many different Peruvian, as well as American dishes to satisfy everyone’s tastes. Cusco is a beautiful city with so much to learn and discover, and it’s definitely a place that must be visited before leaving Peru. Machu Picchu was breathtaking and revealed the ingenuity and intellect of the Incans of the time. I would highly recommend Inca Trail Reservations for anyone interested in hiking to Machu Picchu. It is extremely affordable for the amount of service they provide and the staff is friendly and courteous, eager to help when it is needed. Overall, I had a wonderful experience on our hike and it was a great end to a great vacation!
