He took the time to set my gear up properly so that I was comfortable and ready for the hike. He was always helpful and patient. Along the way he pointed out points of interest, and what to look out for on the trail. He knew the best times to hit each section of the hike and it really made a difference. Timing and placement make a huge difference in the quality of the experience of the hike. He was very knowledgeable of the trail and the Incan ruins and it showed. His good humor and sunny disposition made for a really great experience.
The rest of our experience was very good. The company representatives were also helpful and professional. The food was good and consistent. Most importantly it always left my stomach feeling good. The porters were amazing. These guys were carrying so much gear, and quicker than we could even hike it. They are amazing and incredible tough, and don't forget to tip them. I came away with such an appreciation of Andean culture and the overwhelming beauty of the Andes mountains, its people, and the Incan ruins.
