Chat on WhatsAppInca Trail Reservations is a fabulous company to guide you on the 4d/3n Inca Trail trek. The company was good at communicating beforehand (also, it has thorough info on their website), when we needed to add a sleeping bag and when one of our group could no longer go, they were easy and accommodating. Our flights also changed due to delays and the car was waiting for us upon our landing at the airport.
The orientation meeting was useful - it helped us know how much money to bring on the trek, tipping guides for the porters, and cook (head porter), about $25 USD per porter - expect 1 porter per hiker, more for the cook (as a group), and a little more for your guide (as a group), and what to pack. The sleeping bag I rented was sufficiently warm, but bring layers too. We also split a porter to carry some of our stuff; that was a great decision !
Day 2 of the hike is no joke. Lighter the load the better ! Our guide, Carlos, was excellent. His experience (over 300 treks), English, knowledge, and positivism were all outstanding. This experience was once in a lifetime and unforgettable !
