If you plan on going to Machupicchu, be sure to go on the four day tour. Hiking is just as epic an experience as Machupicchu itself. Even more, actually. The Inka trail is the most beautiful scenery imaginable, and though the hike is brutal at times going up and down...and up up up for hours, it's worth it. And also, the guide, the chef, and the porters were great during the whole trip. When we came to the camp, our tent was up and food ready to be served. Really good service.

We walked day 1 and 3 with all our luggage. I recommend to use a porter, if you're not in great shape and have strong legs ;)
