I did the Salkantay trip 5D4N. It was hard, but really amazing. The nature changed from glaciers to jungle as we walked. Our guide, Jesus (Chachi), told us all about the inca culture, the chakana cross, the plants and the fruits as we walked through forests, along railways, up up up the mountains and down again. Braulio, our cook, provided us with pancakes and warm tea in the morning and soups, rice, chicken and all this great food for lunch and dinner. On the 4th day we climbed a mountain and reached an old inca ruin. It was a clear day and from here we could see Machu Picchu on a mountain top far away. Amazing! Later we reached Aguas Callientes. After 3 nights in a tent we checked in to a hostel with real beds and hot showers. We had a good night sleep before it was finally day 5! The day of Machu Picchu. After a final steep climb we finally reached Machu Picchu, the magnificent Inca town. Chachi told us about the beautiful place and answered all our questions. It was a sunny day. The whole experience from day 1 to day 5 is one of the most struggling and amazing things I ever did.
Really Amazing
