After our 2 hour bus ride to the starting point we were finally off. Carlos took us on our first "short cut" of the hike. The so called short meant straight up the mountain. Luckily it was only for about 10 min. Once at the top we had an easy walk to the first camp site, with the most amazing views. As we settled into the campsite the porters set up our tents and the cooks prepared our lunch. After we ate Carlos took us up the mountain to see a beautiful lake. The hike took only 1.5 hrs to reach the top but we climbed 350 meters which was our warm up for the day to follow.

Day two started with a wake up tea brought directly to our tents. It was to be the most challenging day of the hike. The first 3 hours were proven to be rather tough as we climbed up to 4600 meters above sea level. The picturesque views made up for any shortness of breath. Once we reached the top it was all downhill from there on. We managed to reach the campsite just before dark and just in time for dinner. Day 3 was our shortest day with only 3 hours of walking to out lunch spot. After lunch we were taken to the hot springs for 2 hours. Day 4 started a little later and after breakfast we were taken to zip lining which last 2 hours. From there we made our way to our hostel for our last night.

Tomorrow we will finally make our way to Machu Picchu. Overall this has been the best experience and I would recommend it to anyone.
