Chat on WhatsAppI would recommend this hike with Inca Trail Reservations to anyone! I was very impressed with the whole trip. Our guide, David, was the best guide I have had on any tour. He was very knowledgeable and personable. He was very entertaining and was always cracking jokes. David gave a 2 hour tour of Machu Picchu, which was very informative.
I had the misfortune to lose my camera on the trail. I searched all over but could not find it. David went well out of his way to try and help me find it. Unfortunately it was never recovered.
Sleeping in tents was very comfortable. The one night when it dropped down to well below freezing they gave us hot water bottles to put in our sleeping bags to keep warm.
The food was delicious. There was always more than enough and the cooks were very friendly. The horsemen were also very helpful.
As for the hike itself, it was definitely a challenge. I am 24 and in decent shape, but the altitude definitely made the first few days a challenge. David pushed us, but we all went at our own paces. The views of Salkantay and other mountains were well worth the hike up. We also learned a lot about the local flora and fauna along the way. I am very satisfied with this trip!
