The trek to Machu Picchu was an incredible adventure, my guide Manuel was extremely helpful the whole trip. Be aware that this trek is at very high elevation and you should have an idea about how well you deal with low oxygen levels. As a fit person I had altitude sickness and wasn't the only one in my small group.
This was an absolutely amazing experience despite my being utterly unprepared.
