4 days of fun 4 days hell
After waiting what seemed like months to do a trip that I have dreamed about since I was a kid I was not disappointed, anyone thinking of attempting this trek be prepared to slog it out for the next 4 days, this is no easy task ! We were teased the first day with 10 km of walking which took ... Continue Reading →
Mision cumplida
Continue Reading →
Canadians can hike
My boyfriend convinced me to come to Peru with him to hike Machu Picchu. I was super nervous about the hike, since I hadn't trained and never been at high altitude. But I said yes. We packed every medication we thought was necessary, but at the end, we only needed Tylenol and Advil for the headache and joint aches from ... Continue Reading →
Easy train and lazy legs
Seriously, I have such a deep respect for the Peruvian people and their incredible hard work and motivation ! I have never seen such amazing architect combined with engineering tradition and especially hard work in such short period.
The amazing part for me was to see the passion and hard work of the Inca Trail Reservations staff and employees ... Continue Reading →
P*ssy Train
I was very nervous about the Inca Trail as I had heard many horror stories of how tough it would be. We met our team that where all doing the Inca Trail and I was immediately put at ease as our guides and fellow Inca Trail walkers were all lovely.
During the days the moral was very high and ... Continue Reading →
Inca stinker
Starting off at mile marker 82 we set about the first days trekking which was "Inca Flat" which basically means up and down for a while. Camp on the first night was pretty cool as we went tarantula hunting around the campsite, we found a few around the walls.
The second day was the hardest as we were up ... Continue Reading →
Easy Peasy
Not ;) Hiking this incredible mountain has been a dream of mine ever since my daughter hiked it eight years ago. This year my husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary and Darryl (my husband) surprised me with a trip to Peru where we could experience the majesty of the Andes together. I must admit I could never have ... Continue Reading →
Painfully good
The 4 day trek was incredible ! It starts on the 1st day with a relatively easy hike. Lots of "Inca flat" stretches that just serves to "trick" you and get your hopes up that this trek will be easy. You wake up on day 2 to a very real surprise that this hike will be very serious and is ... Continue Reading →
Every step I can’t !
On 2nd October was the day I began the Inca Trail, I wasn't sure what to expect but I knew how amazing the views would be along our adventure. After meeting our group, guides and porters we all set off for day one, it was an amazing day up and down the mountains, fantastic views and lots of information from ... Continue Reading →
Proud of myself
Well, I can definitely say that it was an adventure. The Inca Trail was both, more and less difficult than I expected. It was less difficult in the sense that, before the trek, I honestly was not sure if I would make it. I have asthma and have never been hiking at this kind of altitude before so I was ... Good job, “excellente”
I have wanted to see Machu Picchu for so many years and decided this was the year to make it happen. By happy coincidence we were matched to Inca Trail Reservations who went above and beyond what we hoped for. From the briefing through to the final lunch together the service has been outstanding.
I am a slow walker ... Continue Reading →
Really pretty sites
Had a really good experience on the Inca Trail. The people I met were great and the staff were brilliant. I thought everyone worked really well as a team. The food was great I don't understand how they did that and I felt really looked after. It was so good not having to worry about tents.
I really enjoyed ... Continue Reading →
Walk of a life time
Had a wonderful time trekking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Although it was hard work, it was very rewarding getting to Sun Gate and seeing Machu Picchu for the first time. The guide was amazing, helping us whenever needed and he was full of information.
Also the food... wow, so much food. We were fed like kings and ... Continue Reading →
Hakuchoo Inca Trail
The Inca Trail for me was awesome, with great people. The itinerary was perfect in the way it broke up the walk in its sections. The first day which was a little warm up helped us get to know our team and prepared us for what was to come. The walk itself was hard but very fun. Victor was a ... Continue Reading →
Excellent service
From bridge to city the experience was splendid. Very impressed with the service provided by the staff, the food was that of a five star hotel. The chef uses his limited resources wisely to create a multitude of terrific dishes every meal time.
If it wasn't for the near vacuum of the atmosphere I would seriously consider doing it ... Continue Reading →
