Trekking with my family
I'm 11 and I went to Peru with my family in the year of 2014. I had a great time on the trail! Definitely a different experience for me. The food was great and the cooks went out of their way to cook me gluten free food!
The people were so nice and were trying to fix a problem ... Continue Reading →
Salkantay trail 5 days
Really good surroundings, beautiful views but don't forget it isn't easy hike. You have to come well prepared and have the motivation to hike for approximately 80 km.
The tour guides are professional and fun, they try to enlighten you with nice insights on the nature but most of all on what the Incas are about and what kind ... Continue Reading →
Vacation in Peru
We had a great vacation with our family in August. Our children are 14 and 11 years old and they did well but it is a very strenuous adventure. You need to be in excellent shape. Victor and Marco were both terrific and really interacted and energized our team.
The food was good and we had perfect weather. This ... Continue Reading →
Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu
I had a great time doing the Salkantay trek to Machu Picchu with Inca Trail Reservations / Salkantay.org. The orientation in Cusco before the trek was very helpful -- Victor (one of the guides) answered all our questions and allayed our fears. The trek itself was beautiful and very well organized.
The best part of the trek was the ... Continue Reading →
Salkantay Trek
The whole trek and camping experience was truly magical. I definitely would not have been able to see or do the things I did without this tour group. Let me give you a few reasons why:
The first night we stayed at a beautiful campsite in the mountains, run by a Peruvian family, with beautiful views of the mountains ... Continue Reading →
Salkantay Trek
I highly recommend the Salkantay Trek! While my friends have been planning their trip to Peru for over six months, I was a last minute addition to the group. With just two weeks to mentally and physically (I run each day but never long distances) prepare for the trek, I was incredibly anxious; however, from the orientation meeting two days ... Hike to Machu Picchu
Had a fantastic time on this trip! Professional staff from top to bottom, including the guide, cooks, porters, and other staff member. The whole trip was very well timed and planned out as there were many changes in location throughout the trip.
Our guide, Ramiro, was very professional throughout, encouraging us on the challenging hikes, providing medical attention, and ... Continue Reading →
Awesome Salkantay hike
This was an amazing experience! Everyone should use this company if they intend to hike to Machu Picchu. The guides are wonderful and well informed. They are great motivators and really help you reach those 4,000 meters. The food is also wonderful. Every meal is huge! They give you so much. It's all delicious.
Otherwise Salkantay trail is a ... Continue Reading →
Salkantay Trek !
The trip was awesome. High mountain passes, cool jungle valleys, and, of course, Machu Picchu. All in all, a great time. I could say more about this but it would be superfluous to do so. Remember to bring extra batteries and memory space for all the amazing pictures you will take during the trek.
From the first day of ... Continue Reading →
Inca Trail trek
The Inca Trail trek was one of the best adventures I have embarked on. I was in a small group of 8 along with our guide, Manuel, and our fantastic team of porters (including our talented cook). During the trek we saw some amazing scenery and came across some unbelievable sites of Inca ruins.
Our guide was very informative, ... Continue Reading →
Inca Trail
My friend and I did the 4 day / 3 night Inca Trail and had the adventure of a lifetime. Our guide, Manuel, was very enthusiastic and shared his knowledge about the ruins we passed along the way. We were provided with amazing food (credit to our cook Raul)... in fact some of the best we have had in South ... Continue Reading →
Salkantay trek to Machu Picchu
I had a great time on the Salkantay trek. I really believe that it was great because of our guide, Juan Carlos. I don't speak Spanish very well but he was able to explain all the historical facts about our trek and also about Machu Picchu.
I came here to expand my knowledge of the Incas and I believe ... Continue Reading →
Salkantay trek
Over the 5d and 4n trek we traveled from Cusco through the Salkantay pass and to Machu Picchu. The first day was mostly flat with an after lunch climb up to a glacial lake. It was good training for the second day which was by far the most difficult, involving an ascent of over 800m up the Salkantay pass. From ... Continue Reading →
Trekking in the mountains
This was an amazing trip. We had a lot of fun, a wonderful experience. We did not take recommended amount of time to acclimate in Cusco so the first few days were quite tough on us. But once we hit the peak on our second day, it was a lot more enjoyable.
The accommodations were quite generous and the ... Continue Reading →
Salkantay Trek
Hello together,
Our Salkantay trek was just amazing! We had a wonderful small group of only 6 people. On our way to Machu Picchu we saw lots of interesting things, other groups, beautiful landscape, animals and so on. On the top of the Salkantay pass the weather unfortunately was very foggy, but nevertheless it was a great experience !! ... Continue Reading →
